For anyone interested in sound and sound recordings
Opening up Speech Archives is a conference on the use of speech-to-text and related technologies to support academic research, particularly in the arts and humanities. There are speakers from the British Library, BBC R&D, the Netherlands Institute for Sound & Vision, BUFVC, Oxford University, Cambridge Imaging Systems and Autonomy.
The event is invitee-only, but a summary of the conference with supporting papers will be made available on the British Library website afterwards. The conference is one outcome of the British Library's AHRC-funded project on speech-to-text, Opening up Speech Archives - see http://britishlibrary.typepad.co.uk/movingimage/2012/03/words-into-words.html
