I recently came across Pterodaktyl which is a wonderful website from Tom Williams. A software developer by trade and talented nature sound recordist in his spare time, Tom's site is full of blog posts and sounds that will keep you enthralled for hours.

Researchers in the Czech Republic have launched a citizen science project that seeks volunteers to record Yellowhammers (Emberiza citrinella) in Great Britain and New Zealand. The purpose of this project is to study the geographic distribution of dialects in both the species' original range and invaded territory.

Sisterhood & After: The Women's Liberation Oral History Project documents the history of women's movements for equal rights and liberation in the UK from 1968-1990. Launched on this year's International Women's Day (8th March), this collection contains in-depth interviews with 60 feminist activists and intellectuals and creates the first permanent and sustainable oral history archive of the British Women’s Liberation Movement.

Tickets are now available for the 'In the Field' conference which will be held at the British Library on 15-16th February. This conference is a collaboration between the wildlife sounds section of the Library and CRiSAP (London College of Communication) and seeks to explore the practice, art and craft of field recording through a series of panel presentations, listenings and screenings.
